Community football is the foundation of the game and the AFL has made supporting community leagues, clubs, players, umpires, coaches, volunteers and administrators across the country a priority in 2022.

As part of a range of initiatives to support community football bounce back, we are excited to announce that the CoachAFL membership fee of $49.50 will be removed for all coaches registering in 2022.

From January 1, 2022 coaches will be able to register and accredit through the CoachAFL platform free of charge.

Coaches will still be required to register and complete their accreditation in order to be selected to a team sheet, and once completed will have access to a wide-range of resources and benefits as part of their CoachAFL Membership including:

Additionally, we are also excited to announce that four-time Hawthorn Football Club premiership coach Alastair Clarkson will join us as a community coaching ambassador, giving coaches at all levels access to insights from one of the game's all-time greats.

Coaches will be able to register and renew their coaching accreditation for the 2022 season from January 1st, 2022. The process to register for your community club will be similar to previous years through CoachAFL and will involve a 3-step process:

  1. Filling out your Coaching Profile (registering to your community club)
  2. Completing a short online module on Safe & Inclusive Coaching (Code of Conduct)
  3. Completing an online coaching course relevant to your current coaching role

Further communications on renewing your coaching accreditation and registering for your community club for the 2022 season will be provided early in the New Year. If you or your club have any queries regarding coaching, please contact the CoachAFL Support Team at coaching@afl.com.au
