Kelly had been pursued by the Kangaroos but chose to turn his back on the Melbourne club, opting to stay with the Giants until the end of 2029, after signing a deal in 2019 which had the option of an eight-year extension.

Kelly has been in career best form through 2021, averaging 25 possessions a game and kicking 15 goals while stepping up as acting captain.

"I couldn't be happier to commit my future to the Giants as I see big things coming for the club," Kelly said in a statement released by the club.

"I've been a Giant since being drafted in 2013 and after weighing everything up, just can't wait to continue building on what we have here at the Giants.

"The club has grown considerably since I've arrived. We've got a strong track record of playing finals football and I believe the best is yet to come for the Giants.

"I can't wait for what lies ahead for this team and the club."

Having played 151 games for the club, Kelly is in the prime of his career and has cemented himself as one of the stars of the league.

The 26-year-old has already won All-Australian selection and won a Kevin Sheedy Medal as Giants Club Champion.
