The AFL Victoria Metro Junior Development Series (AVMJDS) is a representative Interleague competition across the U14 and U15 age groups. In 2024, we launch a graded U14 girls program, which ensures full parity across both boys and girls in the competition. Each squad is made up of players from clubs who come together to form teams which represent the leagues in which they play in. All metropolitan Melbourne leagues are invited to compete.

Many leagues use the AVMJDS to showcase players who demonstrate high playing potential within their leagues and as such, the series acts as part of the pathway from community football into high level programs such as the Coates Talent League.
